Former President Ronald Reagan lays a wreath honoring, amongst others, 49 late members of the Waffen SS at Bitburg Cemetary, Germany on May 5th 1985. This was his commemoration of the end of WW2 in Europe. He publicly stated before going abroad that a trip to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp to acknowledge the holocaust was "unnecasary."
