Quote Of The Day - Here And Now Edition

Oct 15th, 2012

"Walsh is an insecure bully who needs to point out that Duckworth is more of a woman than he is to overcome the fact that she's also more of a man than he is."

-- Columnist Edward McClelland on the notorious Rep. Joe Walsh (deadbeat dad, lunatic) and his tactics against his challenger, Tammy Duckworth (war veteran who lost both legs in an act of heroism).

Rep. Joe Walsh Runs Away

Dec 8th, 2011

Earlier this week, large numbers of citizens from around the country descended on state houses and the nation's capital to demand greater accountability from their representatives and a stronger focus on the interests of the middle class. Rep. Joe Walsh (yeah, that guy) had given members of Stand Up! Chicago his assurances that he was going to meet with them at 3pm that day to answer questions and address their concerns. It did not happen. Roughly 20 minutes later, he was spotted by their members sneaking out, very quickly, down a side staircase. The only thing the following video doesn't have is the Benny Hill theme to punctuate its absurdity.

The Priorities Of Rep Joe Walsh

Sept 14th, 2011

Who knows what Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) was doing today? He just couldn't make it to court. I don't see why the judge is so upset. After all, Rep. Walsh also had better things to do than attend a joint session of Congress called by the President of the United States. Via WLS:

"A judge in Chicago issued a preliminary ruling Wednesday against U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh in the Tea Party favorite’s child-support dispute with his ex-wife, ordering him to explain why he appears to be $100,000 behind on child-support payments, the Sun-Times is reporting.

Cook County Circuit Judge Raul Vega also wanted to know why Walsh wasn’t in court for the hearing — the McHenry Republican’s ex-wife, Laura Walsh was — and said he expects him to show up at the next hearing, in November.

Walsh’s new attorney, Janet Boyle, asked Vega “for what purpose” he wanted the congressman in court.

Vega gave her a puzzled look.

To which Boyle responded: “Mr. Walsh is a U.S. congressman.”

"Well, he’s no different than anyone else," the judge said."
EMPHASIS OURS

I think a lot of us have had that same puzzled look lately when the subject of Representative "Deadbeat" has come up.
