There's a little old mining town on the Arizona/Mexico border called Bisbee. It's about 20 or so miles south of Tombstone (of Gunfight at the OK Corral fame). Anyway, when the mine ran dry, hippies and artists moved in. I was walking around that town a couple of years back, and saw a guy who had a dog. On the back of the dog sat a cat. On the back of the cat sat a bird. He had a sign that said pretty much exactly what you said here. I'll never forget it.
