JASC Members Arrested In Chicago

Nov 7th, 2011

This afternoon, members of the Jane Adams Senior Caucus joined with Occupy Chicago to protest threatened "austerity" measures that might cut Social Security and Medicare. Elderly protesters, some in wheelchairs, were arrested for their act of civil disobedience.

This video from last week's chaos in Oakland certainly seems to show just that.

I really meant to edit this into slick, little and easily digestible clips first. However, it probaly should be seen in its raw form.

Faces Of The Occupation, cont...

Oct 10th, 2011

This photo is making the rounds and drawing a degree of snark from the occupy movement's detractors. Is it profane and inflammatory? Sure. Does it offer any concrete solutions? Nope. However, can anyone tell me with a straight face that it isn't an accurate diagnosis of pretty much the entire American experiment today?

Distorting The Narrative, part 3

Oct 2nd, 2011

Image via Reuters
Business Insider's Joe Weisenthal has now reported on the deceptive tactics we highlighted HERE and HERE.

I think he goes a little too easy on the NYPD. Nevertheless, he does raise an eyebrow.

"Some have apparently claimed entrapment by the police (who encouraged them to walk on the road), but the people we talked to last night mostly suggested that the police merely stood by and watched, not encouraging them, but not stopping them either.

So far we've seen no evidence of police actually encouraging protesters to go on the road, but there are videos that show police walking in front of the protesters, as they go up onto the road.

This isn't the same as encouraging them to go on the road, but on the other hand, you could see why people in a crowd would think that going on a bridge is kosher if the police are calmly walking in front of the crowd as they go up the road."

Weisenthal also included new video from the Brooklyn Bridge

Sept 27th, 2011

"Laws are only words written on paper, words that change on society's whim and are interpreted differently daily by politicians, lawyers, judges, and policemen.

Anyone who believes that all laws should always be obeyed would have made a fine slave catcher. Anyone who believes that all laws are applied equally, despite race, religion, or economic status, is a fool."

The Continuing Decline...

Sept 26th, 2011

The screenshot below is just the current result (6:30am EDT 9/26/11) of a totally unscientific web poll regarding police behavior this past Saturday from the NY Daily News. There is no way of discerning the actual demographics of the respondents. All this really shows is that 46% of them are nuts.
