Last Thursday, Chris Hedges, Cornel West and others held a "people's hearing" meant to expose the corruption of Goldman Sachs.
Via WSJ:
"At the entrance to Goldman’s headquarters on West Street, protesters read their verdict aloud: "Guilty of felony fraud, violating security laws, perjury before a Senate commission and the theft of $78 billion in taxpayer money."

James Madison once famously said, "The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe with blood for centuries."
The following video is real. This is not a parody. This is an event in a public school. But remember, the hand-wringing over indoctrination and establishment attempts by Dominionists are just something we progressives are making up. Right?

Feeling a little gloomy over yesterday's results in the NY-9 race? Well, this might help. Meet a guy named Brian. He's a big time Ron Paul fan. To be fair, if he was spouting drunken nonsense in support of my own causes, I still would've had to post it. Via TPM:
"A Ron Paul fan named Brian got drunk in Montana one night and was pulled over for allegedly driving under the influence. National Geographic's cameras were there.
"The Constitution is your right!" he yells in a clip that aired on National Geographic's Frontier Force and was posted on YouTube this week. "Why can't you guys just assume to me that this is my Constitutional right."

Remembering 9/11

This is not safe for work or children.
The videos and images ahead are both heartbreaking and disturbing. It is important that we do not turn away. As a nation, we no longer really define ourselves in terms of "generations." It is by decades that we mark our journey. On this 10th anniversary of the worst day in modern American history, we have a duty remind ourselves of just how much this harmed our national psyche because we have not really even begun to heal.
The day began for most Americans with almost totally cloudless skies and temperate weather. Indeed, it was a gorgeous day from coast to coast. And then it started.

It's worth noting that the anarchy and rage now consuming England started with a police shooting. It was the kind of extreme law enforcement action that, whether or not it might eventually be deemed officially justified by some British court of inquiry, has become a throwaway moment in America. It happens all the time here. It gets a few minutes on the local news, if that, and we then go on about our business.

"Three types of plutonium have turned up amid the radioactive contamination on the grounds of the earthquake-damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, its owner reported Monday.
The plutonium is a byproduct of nuclear reactions that is also part of the fuel mix at the damaged No. 3 reactor.
It was found in soil at five different points inside the plant grounds, the Tokyo Electric Power Company said late Monday."
