Never Gonna Happen

Using a cell phone while driving may be one the stupidest combinations of behavior on the face of the Earth. However, transportation secretary Ray LaHood's appears close to making an unworkable proposal. There is talk of banning even hands-free phone use while driving. A ban that would extend to services like OnStar.


Like I say, it's never gonna happen. In an interview with Bloomberg, industry insider Christopher King nails it:


“It’s so ingrained at this point, I think banning that would be extremely difficult, bordering on folly,” King said in an interview. “There would be no legitimate, public support for an outright ban.”
